Hi, I’m Tanya—the creative junkie behind this space.
I have always loved the idea of working for myself.
When my children were young, I built and ran my own small businesses from home. I created wedding and birthday cakes through a successful cake-decorating business, and later built a soap-making business that grew into wholesale sales.
As my children became older, my working life changed. I moved into contract bookkeeping and then spent many years working inside other people’s businesses. Those experiences taught me a great deal, but the desire to create something of my own never disappeared.
At 57, with my children grown, I resigned from my full-time job to follow what I truly love: creating, teaching and building an independent life on my own terms.
This new chapter is not only about earning an income. It is also about rediscovering who I am, making space for creativity again and creating the freedom to choose how I live and work.
Tanya Creative Junkie is where I share what I’m creating, what I’m learning and the honest, practical steps I’m taking as I build something of my own again.
I created this space for people over 50 who know they still have ideas worth exploring, knowledge worth sharing and something meaningful left to build.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. I certainly don’t. We can learn, create and move forward—one practical step at a time.
